Problem 3: Essential Amino Acids

Does the ingestion of a meal deficient in lysine followed one hour later by a supplement of lysine satisfy our requirement for essential amino acids in our diet?

Yes, once the essential amino acid is present then we can synthesize the necessary proteins. The other amino acids are simply stored until the complete complement of all the necessary amino acids is present.
No, in contrast to lipids and carbohydrates we can't store the nitrogen component of amino acids. If amino acids cannot be used immediately, then the carbon chain will be degraded and the nitrogen eliminated as urea
