Problem 4: Cytochalasins

Cytochalasins are drugs that interfere with actin polymerization into microfilaments. If you add cytochalasin to cultured mammalian cells that have just begun mitosis what is most likely to happen?

D. The cells will arrest at mitotic anaphase.

Microtubules and not microfilaments cause chromosomal movement.
