Problem 7: Metabolic Activity and Weight Loss
Studies on forced weight gain and weight loss that measured
metabolic activities showed why lowering caloric intake
rarely results in sustained weight loss. The basic
observation was that metabolic activity:
|
increased with forced weight loss and decreased with
forced weight gain in obese and normal individuals. |
|
decreased with forced weight loss and increased with
forced weight gain in obese and normal individuals. |
| increased with both forced weight loss and forced weight
gain in obese and normal individuals. |
|
decreased in obese individuals with forced weight gain
and increased in normal individuals. |
