The left ventricle, on slicing, shows this extensive mottled red and yellow pattern; this has been present for several days, from the looks of things.

Other findings

• Aorta shows severe complicated atherosclerosis.
• Carotids show mild atheroma.
• Renal artery ostia narrowed by atheroma.
• No deep vein thrombosis apparent.
• Pulmonary artery and veins appear normal.
