This section of the pituitary gland appears normal.
the lighter area to the left of the slide is the adenohypophysis (derived from the roof of the fetal mouth cavity) and the darker area to the right is the neurohypophysis (derived from the fetal diencephalon, which is part of the developing brain - go and check your embryology if you're not sure where that is...)
