Description
Striking burr and spur cell abnormalities are seen in this high
oil magnification view of the Wright's stained peripheral blood
in a patient with hepatorenal failure. Generally, the bur cells or
echinocytes have a more even distribution over the surface of the
red blood cell. The spur cells have a smaller number of projections
on a stalk.
