Description
This high oil magnification of the peripheral bood shows classical
rouleaux formation. The red cells appear to be "stacked together".
This particular type of adherence of red cells is seen in a variety
of disorders which are characterized by incresased immunoglobulin in
the serum. These can be autoimmune in nature; can also be seen in
monoclonal gammopathies; and can also be seen in some disorders of
fibrinogen.
